These terms apply to all tutoring sessions and programmes booked with Edinburgh, Fife & Lothians Tutors. Last updated 3 August 2026.
By booking a session or programme with us you agree to the terms below. Please read them carefully and ask us if anything is unclear.
We provide online one-to-one tutoring and small-group learning programmes for Scottish secondary students in S3 to S6. Sessions are delivered by video call. We work hard to support every student’s progress, but we cannot guarantee a particular grade or exam outcome.
A booking is confirmed once we have agreed a schedule with you in writing and, where a programme is concerned, received the first payment. Bookings are made by a parent or guardian for students under 18.
Either of us may end ongoing one-to-one tutoring by giving two weeks’ notice in writing. For programmes, you may withdraw within 14 days of your first payment for a full refund. After that, monthly payments already made are non-refundable and remaining payments stop from the following month.
We expect students to attend on time, ready to take part, and to treat their tutor with respect. We expect the same of our tutors. All tutors hold current PVG or DBS clearance. We may end an arrangement immediately where behaviour is abusive or puts anyone at risk. Sessions may be recorded only with the agreement of everyone involved.
You are responsible for a suitable device, a stable internet connection and a quiet place to work. Where a session is lost to a technical problem on our side, we will reschedule it at no cost.
Worksheets, notes and resources we provide are for the personal use of the enrolled student. Please do not copy, share or publish them.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death, personal injury or fraud. Otherwise our liability in connection with any booking is limited to the fees paid for the sessions affected. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost opportunity.
We handle personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy.
We may update these terms. Where a change affects an arrangement already in place, we will tell you at least 30 days before it takes effect.
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
