Frequently Asked Questions
Yes – in fact, most students thrive online. Online tutoring works just as it would in person – only the learning takes place on Zoom (or Teams)! Our tutors have plenty of digital resources, including questions, textbooks, and notes, and will also demonstrate model answers and examples via an online whiteboard. They can then send any additional notes or model answers they make during the session to the student afterwards for their own benefit. Students often feel more comfortable asking questions in their own space, leading to faster progress.
We follow a clear five-step tutoring process. First, we’ll discuss your child’s needs and goals (Discovery). Next, we match them with a tutor who has the right expertise and personality (Matching). The tutor then creates a tailored lesson plan (Planning). During tutoring sessions, the tutor teaches the material in an easy-to-understand way (Delivery). Finally, after each lesson, we review what worked and what needs adjustment (Reflect) so we can continuously improve future sessions. This process ensures each student gets the support they need at every stage.
Most sessions take place during weekday evenings or at weekends. Our tutors are also flexible during the daytime if you are looking for a session then.
Absolutely. We adapt our tutoring for students with additional support needs such as ADHD, dyslexia, or other learning differences. Many of our tutors have experience working with neurodivergent learners and will tailor their teaching methods to suit each child. We believe every student deserves a chance to succeed, and we’re patient and flexible in meeting those needs.
Yes, of course. We make every effort to match each student with the right tutor from the start. However, if for any reason you feel the fit isn’t right, just let us know. We will be happy to arrange a different tutor who might suit your child better. Your child’s comfort and progress are our primary concerns.
We keep a close eye on each student’s progress through ongoing feedback and communication. Tutors often give brief updates after lessons and periodically review the student’s grasp of topics with practice questions or recap sessions. We also encourage students and parents to discuss any improvements or concerns. By reflecting on each lesson (as part of our process), we can adjust the teaching plan as needed to ensure steady progress.
Most of our sessions run weekly and last one hour; however, after consultation, we will be able to assess the individual needs of the student and recommend a minimum number of sessions.
