Our Tutors

Highly qualified, friendly tutors committed to your child’s success

Experienced, Vetted, Passionate Tutors

Our tutoring team is comprised of bright graduates, talented undergraduates, and even qualified teachers – all sharing a passion for helping students succeed. Every tutor on our team has excelled academically in their subject area, and we carefully vet each one to ensure they can teach to our high standards. This means your child will be working with someone who not only knows the material inside out, but also knows how to explain it in a clear and supportive way.

We take time to match each student with the tutor best suited to their needs, whether it’s a maths whizz who can break down tricky concepts or a patient mentor who boosts confidence. Our tutors are familiar with the Scottish curriculum and have recent, first-hand experience with National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher exams. Many of them are close in age to our students, which helps them connect and build rapport quickly. All our tutors share our values of patience, integrity and encouragement, creating a safe learning environment where students thrive.

Florence

Hi, I’m Florence! I’m a dedicated tutor with experience supporting learners of all ages. I’ve taught English abroad, worked as a Global Ambassador helping international students settle into the UK, and adapted lessons for students aged 4 to 18.

My background as a nanny, disability support worker, and dog shelter supervisor has strengthened my patience, communication, and ability to create a calm, supportive learning environment. Working in a dog shelter also taught me to stay composed under pressure and manage multiple responsibilities – skills I bring to my tutoring practice.

Outside of teaching, I’m also a photographer, which has enhanced my creativity and attention to detail.

I hold an Advanced TEFL qualification and take a flexible, personalised approach to every session. Whether you’re looking to improve your skills in a specific subject or build confidence in learning, I’m here to help you succeed. I offer tailored support for Scottish National 5, Higher, and Advanced Higher exams, helping students feel confident and fully prepared.

Molly

Specialises in: English and English Literature, Early Years Education. Offers both online & in-person tutoring

I am currently studying for my PGDE in Primary Education at the University of Edinburgh, having graduated with a First-Class BA (Hons) in English Literature from Edinburgh Napier University.

Over the past year, I have taught at HMP Edinburgh, helping students develop skills in critical analysis, philosophical thinking, and mental wellbeing. I also have experience teaching English as an additional language, which has strengthened my adaptability, cultural awareness, and communication with learners from diverse backgrounds. One pupil described me as a “force of nature”—a reminder of my passion for making a meaningful impact through education.

Having been severely dyslexic and unable to read until the age of thirteen, I know firsthand the challenges of learning. Overcoming those barriers instilled determination and patience—qualities I bring to every tutoring session.

As your tutor, I’ll provide tailored support to help you build confidence, develop independent learning skills, and reach your full potential—both in and beyond the classroom.

Scott

I am a fourth-year Chemistry student at the University of St Andrews, tutoring both Chemistry and Mathematics. I have experience as a teaching assistant for secondary school students in Chemistry, as well as working as a playworker with primary school pupils.

Over time, I have developed my teaching skills through hands-on experience and by studying pedagogy modules at university. I aim to help students not only learn but also enjoy Chemistry and Mathematics. In my lessons, I use interleaved practice to support both short- and long-term learning goals, ensuring a strong academic foundation for exams while reinforcing current classroom topics.

Roxy

Specialises in English, Maths and History

I recently graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a major in English and a minor in Economics. I’m currently spending my gap year finishing a murder mystery novel, the first third of which I submitted as my final-year thesis. I also write short stories, one of which was shortlisted for a historical fiction prize.

My passion for teaching began in high school, where I volunteered for a paired reading programme. During my COVID gap year, I worked as a learning assistant at Dalkeith High School, and at university I volunteered for an after-school programme. Through these experiences, I’ve seen how positive feedback and respect can truly transform young people’s confidence. I build every tutoring relationship on mutual trust, ensuring my students always feel comfortable—even when making mistakes.

In my sessions, I focus not only on developing subject knowledge but also on building confidence and lifelong critical thinking skills. I believe that fostering both academic and personal growth is the key to lasting success. My aim is to equip students with the tools they need to excel in exams and beyond.

We saw huge improvements in our child's confidence and grades in Chemistry and Maths after just a few sessions with our tutor Matei. We've used different tutor companies in the past and this is by far the best.
